Yuko is a private chef and food educator specializing in modern and classic Japanese cuisine. She was born and raised in Yokohama, Japan. Her interest in cooking began from the young age of six when she started helping her mother prepare traditional Japanese meals. The traditional meals evolve and merge with each of her adult homes. She has lived in Australia, Hong Kong and the USA. Yuko sets out to create her own unique style of Japanese cuisine that is influenced by the flavors from her travels while staying rooted in her heritage. She has formally trained with Master Sushi Chef Asai in Tokyo.
In 2010 yuko’s cooking opened in Hoboken, NJ. The business offered sushi making and Japanese cooking classes at private client venues and at Kings Cooking Studio in Short Hills. In 2013 when Yuko moved to St Thomas, US Virgin Islands, she continued her business serving local and international clients with unique Caribbean infused Japanese cuisine. More recently Yukoscooking successfully served the northern New Jersey area.
However, as of fall 2020 Yuko relocated to Annapolis, MD and is excited to share her Japanese cuisine and techniques influenced by flavors from around the world.
