About Yuko
Chef Yuko
Chef Yuko redefines Japanese cuisine by blending deep-rooted heritage with global inspiration.
Born and raised in Yokohama, Japan, her culinary journey began at age six at her mother's side, mastering traditional Japanese flavors.
Those foundational roots evolved as Yuko lived and cooked across the globe, including Australia, Hong Kong, and the United States. She further elevated her technical skills through formal training in Tokyo under Master Sushi Chef Asai. This rare blend of strict tradition and global wanderlust forms her signature style: modern Japanese cuisine infused with international flair.
In 2010, she launched yuko's cooking in Hoboken, New Jersey, teaching highly sought-after sushi and culinary classes at private venues and Kings Cooking Studio. Moving to St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands in 2013, she captivated local and international clients by introducing a vibrant, Caribbean-infused Japanese menu.
Now based in Annapolis, Maryland, Chef Yuko is thrilled to bring her world-class techniques, master-level sushi training, and globally-inspired recipes to local food lovers through premium, hands-on cooking classes.
